Amigurumi · taught in English
Six stitches, and a friend the size of your hand.
Amigurumi is quiet, repetitive, forgiving work. Caco Crochet teaches it properly — the stitches, the shaping, the finishing — so the little characters you picture end up in your hands.
Teaching since 2018. Now in English.
How we teach it
Amigurumi is repetition, and the repetition is the point. Short lessons, hands close to the camera, nothing rushed. Put a project down for a week and you can still find your place when you come back.
A pattern gives you one toy. Understanding how the shape is built gives you every toy after it, including the ones nobody wrote down. So we teach why a round increases where it does, not just how many stitches to put in it.
Most of what our students make ends up in somebody else’s arms. We teach the finishing with that in mind: closed seams, stuffing that keeps its shape, faces that survive being carried around.
The person teaching
Ju Sanches started Caco Amigurumi in Brazil in 2018, filming what her hands actually do and explaining the parts most patterns skip. People stayed, and told other people.
Caco Crochet is that same teaching in English. Same hands, same method, same small crowd of characters — run from Canada now.
She writes every lesson and she’s the one on camera.
The Fluffies — our first course in English
Video lessons that take you from a magic ring to a finished character you can change: different ears, longer arms, your own colours. Step by step, at your own pace, watched as many times as you need.
Before you get your hopes up about the audio: the lessons are taught in Brazilian Portuguese with English subtitles. English dubbing is planned, but it is not ready yet, and we would rather say so now than after you have paid.
It opens here when it is ready.
